Manuscript Preparation

$935.00

Your publisher is sending you emails about that manuscript, but you just don’t have the time or energy to meet all their formatting requirements.

I will fix it for you: the sooner we get started, the sooner you will feel a sense of relief!

This is a custom plan that comes in approximately 11-hour segments so that you have control over the costs associated (and can negotiate with your Institution for financial assistance). Each segment is AU$935. I will send an invoice of AU$935 to be paid on the commencement of each 11-hour block.

For example: Turning a thesis into a manuscript ready for a publisher, with 6 chapters (plus intro, conclusion and appendices), converting charts and tables into acceptable formats, writing style notes, checking all citations and no bibliographic database, plus indexing takes approximately 45 hours.

You must supply:

  • The entire document (or individual chapters) formatted as .docx or .doc files

  • A link to any style guide documentation from your publisher

  • Specify the referencing style required and/or edition required by your publisher

  • (Optional) a database, however partial, of your bibliographic information so far

Please note: Depending on the number of hours you need, consider each billing unit to be 2 weeks. If you need an express service, please add the PhD express package. NB: I will prioritise your work, but it will take more than one week. (I have pulled 45 hours into 9 days of work before, but that kind of magic requires a premium!)

Here are some guarantees and ground rules to make sure everything is above board.

  • I promise not to upload your work to any third-party website, AI tool, or other internet service where another person/bot can access it. Your work should remain yours—I know how hard you worked on it, and the publishing issues at stake. Once I accept your job, I will organise secure hosting of your document on a Google Drive where only you and I have access to it. I will hold your project files there for up to 2 months after your nominated date and then permanently delete them.

  • If you need a citation style other than the ones listed, I am willing to take on your project, but I will require a total of 3 weeks to complete the manuscript and a $50 fee to purchase a subscription to the relevant style guide online.

  • I’m human, and despite my best efforts, some errors are likely. If your thesis comes back for correction and there are fewer than 5% errors in the bibliographic material, I will correct these for free. If there are greater than 5% of errors (which are my responsibility), I will fix them for free and offer a proportionate partial refund.

  • Once you have submitted your work to me for editing, I am not responsible for any alteration to your main body of work that may undermine your final citation formatting or bibliographic material.

  • I may contact you via email during the process with queries regarding missing page numbers, conflicts in source material, etc. Please respond promptly to assist with the process.

  • I have some familiarity with languages other than English, which is useful for some titles/journals in different languages; however, I cannot accept manuscripts written in languages other than English.

  • If I cannot accommodate your project in time for your nominated date, then I will work with you to find an alternate time or refund your money within the week.

  • The service timeframe relies on your timely submission of all required materials in the correct format.

  • I will require payment up front before commencing each stage of work.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions regarding this service on my contact page.
