Hi, I’m Rosey…
One night, back in the days before Twitter, I left my undergraduate dorm for a moonlight walk. At the end of the corridor, light spilled out from under a door, and, curious, I knocked to see what hive of activity was happening at such late hours. I found my professor stressed and slumped over his desk, frantically (manually) two-finger typing twelve pages of bibliography.
That’s when I discovered my superpower, my love and flair for the jots and tittles, italics and colons that are the bread and butter of referencing style guides. I fed him chocolate and caffeine, and then rolled up my sleeves to join him. His relief and gratitude were expressed in a bottle of wine and a lifelong friendship.
What I’m offering you is that same sense of relief. Relief that something necessary is done—and you didn’t have to do it! Or I’m giving you back those hours you need to polish that draft until it shines.
I’m also an academic, just like you.
So I understand the love, sweat, and tears that go into the research. I’m the gal who reads the footnotes, finds something interesting and then goes searching for the original source. Footnotes matter—I get it.
I use both Zotero and Endnote (and I am open to using other databases too).
I have submitted, or marked papers using:
Chicago notes & bibliography and author-date 18th ed.
Society of Biblical Literature (SBL)
APA 7th ed.
